Welcome to Timeless Christians
Martin Luther. Next to Christ, he may be the most written about name in church history.
Thousands of individuals are remembered to history only because of their faith in Christ: some because they did his work, some because they died for him. Examples are Basil the Great and Agnes of Rome. This web site calls them Timeless Christians.
Hundreds of other individuals are remembered in history for some notable achievement. The history books are mute on the faith that inspired them, the prayer that sustained them, and the vision that made them great. Among such names are Robert Boyle, who gave us Boyle’s Law of Gases, and Cyrus McCormick who gave us the reaper. They, too, are Timeless Christians.
All of them had one thing in common: they honored our Lord Jesus Christ, and through his power inspired or served others. And because they honored God, he honored them, giving them names that live on in history.
I have presented these representative biographies of Timeless Christians in the hope that they will inspire others to follow Christ. It lies in the power of each of us, when stirred by the Holy Spirit, to submit to Christ and be used for his glory. None of us will necessarily be remembered long on earth—many triumphant Christians have not been—but God will remember each with an eternal place.
